Exploration & GR Report
Exploration reports document the search for mineral deposits, detailing geological surveys, sampling, and drilling activities. Geological Reports (GR Reports) provide an in-depth analysis of the geological data collected during exploration, interpreting the findings to assess the potential for mineral deposits. Together, these reports form the foundation for further mining development, helping to identify viable prospects and inform feasibility studies.
Mines Construction & Development
Mine construction involves building the necessary infrastructure for mining operations, including roads, processing plants, and utilities. Mine development encompasses the excavation and preparation of the mine site, including shaft sinking, tunneling, and pit development. Together, construction and development lay the groundwork for safe and efficient mining operations, enabling the extraction of minerals and resources.
Mine Feasibility Study & DPR
Mine feasibility studies determine the viability of a mining project by assessing its technical, financial, and environmental aspects. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) is then prepared, outlining the project's scope, timeline, budget, and operational plans. The DPR serves as a blueprint for the project's execution, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
Coal Production and Selling
Coal production involves extracting coal from underground or surface mines, followed by processing to meet quality standards. The coal is then transported to industries like power plants, steel manufacturing, and cement production. Coal selling depends on market demand, pricing, and contracts with domestic and international buyers.

OUR LEADERSHIP
Mr. Dilip Kumar Sharma is a distinguished leader in the mining industry, with a career that spans over two decades. Mr. Sharma began his career in 2003 as a Management Trainee on the inaugural Continuous Miner Project at Anjan Hill, India. Over the years, he has rapidly ascended through a range of operational and managerial roles across various subsidiaries of the Joy Group. His extensive experience spans across the mines of SECL, SCCL, WCL, and ECL, providing him with an in-depth understanding of coal deposits and the unique challenges within the Indian coal mining sector. His early work in depillaring operations laid a strong foundation for his later innovative contributions.
During his tenure at Joy Mining (JMS), Mr. Sharma was instrumental in transforming mining operations. Under his leadership, JMS successfully secured its first Continuous Miner project on a hiring basis, commissioned it within a year. He introduced the Bolter Miner Package—an advanced solution for longwall gate road drivage—along with high-capacity road headers and a high-range Continuous Miner capable of cutting up to 5.5 meters. Notably, Mr. Sharma pioneered the Nevid Angle method for depillaring long-standing pillars, unlocking previously inaccessible reserves and significantly enhancing operational efficiency.
These groundbreaking initiatives contributed to substantial growth, increasing the company’s annual turnover from approximately INR 90 crores to INR 1,030 crores. The workforce also expanded dramatically, from 300 employees to nearly 2,000 across more than 25 projects, including four commercial coal blocks and two underground MDOs under CIL. Mr. Sharma also established a state-of-the-art manufacturing and repair facility, secured accreditation as a Mine Planning and Preparing Agency, and integrated advanced strata monitoring technologies to bolster safety.
Currently serving as Director of UGM Mining, MMPL, and other companies, Mr. Sharma continues to champion innovation in underground mining, leading the development and integration of mechanized technologies that set new industry standards. His visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence remain integral to his lasting impact on the mining sector.
Mr. Sharma holds a First Class Mine Manager competency certificate and an MBA in Total Quality Management. He is also a Life Member of MGMI, IMMA, ISRM, and the Institution of Engineers.

Mr. Rajiv Ganeriwala is a pioneering leader in underground mining and the Managing Director of Maheshwari Mining Pvt. Ltd. With over 40 years of industry experience, he has significantly advanced India’s underground mining sector by championing indigenous technology and reducing reliance on foreign contractors. A Civil Engineering graduate from the esteemed Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, he is also an active member of the Indian Chamber of Mines.
His expertise spans mine development operations, backfilling, shaft sinking,drilling, grouting, and other allied mining services.
Under his dynamic leadership, Maheshwari Mining has executed several landmark projects. These include the underground mine development at Kottadih under an Indo-French collaboration, the installation of Asia’s largest fan draft ventilation system, and the pioneering implementation of a 2.0 km French underground man riding system. Additionally, his design of a 100-foot flood light tower has markedly improved coal production efficiency at open cast projects.
Mr.Ganeriwala’s innovative strategies have positioned Maheshwari Mining as the only company in India offering complete end-to-end solutions for underground mining. Today, with a workforce exceeding 3,000 across more than 30 projects, his strategic vision and commitment to technological advancement continue to set new industry benchmarks.
Currently, Mr. Ganeriwala serves on the board of directors of MMPL, Maliki South, UGM, MAPL amongst many others.
